Use a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser within 24 hours of your appointment. Your hair should feel clean without heavy product buildup.
✨ Condition & Detangle
Condition thoroughly and detangle your hair while the conditioner is in. Please arrive with your hair completely detangled.
🌿 Style Naturally
Style your curls exactly how you normally wear them using lightweight, water-based products that define your natural curl pattern.

☀️ Arrive Completely Dry
Your curls should be 100% dry before your appointment. Please avoid refreshing your curls right before arriving.

- Buns, ponytails, braids, twists, twist-outs, rollers, or stretched styles
- Straightened or blown-out hair
- Brushed or combed-out curls
- Heavy product buildup

Appointment Preparation Policy
Preparing your curls correctly ensures we can spend your appointment focused on your service—not resetting your hair.
Hair that arrives wet or damp, tangled, heavily coated with oils or butters, straightened, or stretched may require additional preparation time.
If necessary, your appointment may include a preparation fee, a modified service, or rescheduling if time does not allow proper preparation.

This is not a rushed salon chair appointment.
The private studio format creates space for real consultation, focused attention, and education. You are not being moved through a chair as quickly as possible. Your appointment is built around your hair, your comfort, and your goals.
Whether your curls are loose, tight, damaged, dry, frizzy, undefined, or simply misunderstood, the process starts with seeing what your hair is actually trying to do.
Client Policies
Your appointment has been thoughtfully reserved just for you. These policies help ensure every guest receives the highest level of service while allowing appointments to run smoothly and on time.
By booking an appointment with KJ CurlHaus, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies.
Scheduling
All appointments are booked through our online booking system. A valid credit card is required to reserve your appointment. Your card will only be charged in accordance with our cancellation and no-show policies.
Appointments are available up to 4 months in advance online. Existing guests may pre-book up to 6 months in advance during their appointment.
Cancellations
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged 100% of the reserved service.
This policy also applies to illness, emergencies, travel delays, and weather-related cancellations.
Late Arrivals
Guests arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to have their service shortened, modified, or rescheduled. Late arrival fees may apply when additional time is required.
No-Shows
No-show appointments will be charged 100% of the scheduled service. Future appointments may require prepayment.
Guests & Children
Appointments are reserved for scheduled guests only. Unless receiving a service, we kindly ask that additional guests and children remain at home.
Service Adjustments
Please let us know before your appointment if you would like to make changes to your scheduled service. Additional services cannot always be accommodated.
Refund Policy
All service sales are final. If you have concerns about your hair, please contact us within 7 days so we can evaluate whether an adjustment is appropriate.
Respect & Kindness
Disrespectful, abusive, or inappropriate behavior toward staff or other guests will result in the appointment being ended and future booking privileges revoked.
